finally, its my turn. this morning I turned on my mtv and it made a horrible woo woo noise. looks like the fan has gone. any c-hing can recommned a replacement + upgrade and where to buy? I dont want to travel all the way to science park. |

The power button on the IR remote found out of order, just over 1 year ...... so bad  Is there any 3rd party IR remotre can act as MTV remote? |

Li On - Bug Report.
Found that when using the latest firmware, the EPG entries that end at 0:00 or continues on next day (say HD JADE 高清劇場 that starts at 23:45 and ends at 00:45 next day) cannot show the time. I recalled that it used to show in previous firmwares. |

今日remote 一直不停閃紅燈, 用唔到.. 換左電都係咁...
冇跌過冇入水.... 好似有個 timer 咁一年就死左... 邪到爆...
請問有冇得整, 又或要換幾錢? pls advise. |

PLls make the time of "auto power off after recording" longer.
It's really too shortt, everytime when i saw the warning messaging, I started to looking for my remote control and then it already turned off!!! |

have you checked the .trash folder? you need to del the files there to get back the free disc space. |

My problem is A. Can see all the files in HDD and read okay, but cannot write to HDD because PC reports no HDD space.
I searched on the web and noticed somebody said ext2 HDD reserves some space for root account. I am not sure if it is the cause.
Thanks and I will try to use ext2fsd instead and see if it fixes the problem.

I think the problem is with the ext driver on your PC.
You are right to try another driver/software. |

A. see all recorded file, but say the HDD has no space
B. can not see recorded file
If A, please try "Check and repair" on Magic TV. If B, on PC, uninstall ext2ifs and install ext2fsd http://www.ext2fsd.com/

搭單問...
接住 mtv3000 的 ext2 format 1TB MyBook Home Edition 差不多滿 (但未 full 的, mtv 可錄影), 但接 pc (用 ext2 ifs installer) 就話冇空位. even 我用 mtv delete 一個小時高清節目, 清埋廢物箱之後係 pc 度都係話冇空位. 有乜野問題呢? 係唔係 ext2 format 有事? |

Some question :if i ""press remote yellow "pause" key repeatedly (like play game, do not hold down the key)"" than is it same time to press and same step ???? to"" Keep clicking press ?? the "pause" key also "" ???? , and wait within 5secs, than th Magic TV front panel will show "RESCUE" and find firmware message..............

AV賓利 hing, please perform firmware "rescue" to recover the Magic TV. Please read the user manual for detail.
Put all the unzipped firmware files on a USB thumbdrive root folder, and connect the USB thumbdrive on Magic TV. Turn Magic TV power Off from back panel power switch. Turn On the Magic TV, and at the same time (do not wait) press remote yellow "pause" key repeatedly (like play game, do not hold down the key). Keep clicking the "pause" key, and within 5secs, Magic TV front panel will show "RESCUE" and find firmware message. Then press "OK" to update firmware. After firmware "rescue", please re-config the Magic TV.

我部 3100 係第一次update 3.08 firmware 之後未 load 完個 3.08 firmware 约10% 就一路"han"機 "han " 咗個 update 晝 面成個鐘都未 load 完........... 所以咪去息左機 power off 再 power on 之後再update 就再 load 唔到 有 firmware 同認唔到有 USB裝置 就連個 USB 1 TB 都認唔到呀好大濩 ... ???? 但其他野正常喎... 裹面却都仲係 show 番之前 3.06a firmware.......??
....
想請問 有 c hing 話最後用menu書仔入面 既緊急救援法 ??? 再 update 一次..就得 ??? 唔明係點樣既 ""既緊急救援法 去up 番 個新 既 3.08 firmware ??? 希望 Li On c hing 可以幫手 . many thanks !

I havesuggestion to Magic TV after I connect my new extrenal Harddisk to my MTV 3500. Details below:
I bought a new External 1.5TB HDD - Buffalo Buffalo HD-CE1.5TU2

formatted to EXT2 using MTV. After a few days used..........
1. Suggestion
Checkng the "USB harddisk remaining space information" deep inside the set-up screen seem not very user-friendly.
Is is possible to add the USB harddisk remaining space information in the recorded programme screen and to to list screen?
as there is still prenty space near the bottom right corner of the two screen. (see attachments)

Thanks for MTV's new feature "on.cc即時圖片新聞". I like that. Please add more similar faatures.

I don't have any problem with subtitles in any of the channels. Able to control subtitles on a couple of channels but not on others sounds really strange. |

Do you also hv this, I also wondering y it can't hv subtitles when choose Pearl & Asia Int'l through MTV3000 directly.
there hv no function from the remote when watch Pearl or Asia Int'l channel.
Any other C hing hv the same sit!

是否重有其它方法.
I think using the "down arrow" key is the only way. It sounds strange that it worked on HD channels but not on other channels. |

hi 子榮, you can try another hdd on Magic TV, and try the WD hdd on a PC. Sometime the problem may be due to the hdd instead of Magic TV. You can bring the Magic TV and hdd to our center to check. There is no check fee even over warranty.

都係得熄左my book總制第一次得，之後熄magie tv，個hdd 就唔識熄，之後開返magie 又認唔到個hdd，請問係hdd 有事，定要拿回廠修理?(過了保養,要幾多錢?)

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
