我用MTV3000,
我發現firmware 5.02有個bug, 當播放已錄影節目時，如果想向前飛廣告但飛過龍，一按rewind button就會自動彈回之前十幾分鐘的位置，
希望留意. thx |

我用緊3500，up完5.02後發現以下兩個問題：
1.上網試set錄影，但永遠都會出現：「偵測發現 MAGIC TV 與伺服器連線上出現問題,請檢查電源開關及網路連線.」。但我卻可以利用MAGIC TV 上網看即時新聞及完成用戶注冊，我亦check過網絡連線沒有問題，所以理應不是連線問題，而最神奇的是我在家reboot左幾次部機後便可看到早前透過電腦網絡預校的錄影記錄，但如果我在家中又何必要用網絡預校錄影？這豈不是廢過廢柴的新功能？
2.我現時亦會利用MAGIC TV 看我利用HDV拍的自製高清video，我是利用tsremux把mpg檔轉成ts檔，4.01可順利播放，但update左5.02後，大約有50% ts檔不能播放，而且每次播放時，部機都會reboot，真係激到你反肚！
最後，我down番落4.01，一切回復正常，一天都光晒！  |

我部MTV3000以前播放已錄影片段一切正常，自從UPGRADE 咗5.02後，播返已錄影片段時用快速回片功能【 << 】想返轉頭就突然跳到片頭，好奇怪。
應該係5.02的問題，因為以前一直相安無事，搞到我依家唔敢用【 << 】鍵了
希望下個FIRMWARE可修正此問題，謝謝 |

SORRY, 係5.02先啱... 話說UPGRADE 咗5.02後, 連住USB個手指同HARDISK都認唔到, REBOOT完再REBOOT 都一樣, 於是上黎發脾氣啦, 點知無拿拿一直都DETECT唔到的USB WIFI突然認到!!! 於是再用個USB WIFI連上網UPGRADE多一次, 終於認得番個HARDISK... 點知支USB WIFI又再detect 唔到了...
真係人都顛...
唔需要咁多增值"花神"啦, 幾時先會有完美D GE FIRMWARE啊? |

個節目分類D 料係MTV 自己加, 速度係會慢過電視台EPG.之前4.02BETA 時MTV UPDATE過一排又停咗, 希望現在正式佢會KEEP 著UPDATE 啦. |

我UP左,USB乜事都無....反而節目表有點怪...按落去IEPG(分類),竟然只能見到星期四O既節目分類...但今日UP時已經係星期五了...夜晚返來又見到正常... |

- 類別瀏覽，在 i EPG 模式下， 在節目表(EPG)介面時，用戶可按遙控鍵

But my original adaptor is only 12V 1.5A instead of 12V 2.0A and it lasted a bit longer than 2 years.
Ah, I also put in a laptop ventilation fan stand underneath from last year.
Does MTV3000 have its adaptors in 2 or more spec. (1.5A & 2.0A)? 
The guy of the shop even told me that this maker has not got this fixed 12V 1.8A adaptor (only 1.2A) until recently due to the big demand of the replacement adaptors for Magic TV STB before I told him anything. |

個問題係 MTV 部野都幾食電下, 它本身跟機個火牛都有 12V 2A, 用時都好鬼熱 !! 
你現在自己買過個新的仲得 12V 1.8A, 仲少過它以前舊那個, 我驚你好快又晒了 $90 大元而已 !! 
我估用係 MTV 度的火牛, 最少都要有 12V 3A 至 4A 先叫做穏陣 !!  |

就算用电最少的型號MTV3100(單tuner)，待機時都要損耗15瓦的電能，電子零件長時間處於高熱狀態，再加上這個炎夏，壽命豈會長久!
下一個新型號，真待機 please!  |

Mine failed a couple months back like it had a 2 years lifespan and nothing more. How the hell do they engineer their power supply to last exactly 2 years or less??
BTW, 1.8A is on the low side, I used a 12V 5A LCD power supply to replace mine. |

got a Winstar regulated switching power supply UP-12 (Output = 12V; 1.8A) for $90.
No need to spend time & money to go to Ap Liu Street.
The shop people already learnt that I should buy it to replace the original MTV adaptor.
So, Magic TV is truly famous....for a defective adaptor. |

Ooops....just reviewed the past messages and found the answer already. Many thanks to ttttt ching and ta01 ching.
I will find time to go get either a Japan-made capacitor or a new Super adaptor. I really didn't expect this adaptor problem has bothered that
many users already. Magic TV.....use better components please! |

Oh, my MTV3000 just shut down by itself during the standby mode and cannot be switched on again.
Looks like the AC/DC adaptor is malfunctioning as the LED goes dim or out when I turn the switch in the back on or knockthe adaptor moderately.
No idea why the life of such a common part is that short. I will go get another aftermarket adaptor tomorrow and try again.
Any brother has any comment for me. For example, where can I get a better adaptor? Thanks in advance.  |

To be fair, Pixel Magic is not any worst than many local brands. The thing is that they charged a premium for their designs but the execution and after sales services have not been living up to the premium prices they charged on their products. The other STB I have been using was from Viewsonic. I can tell you that the remote was even much worst than that for the MTV. The remote for the Viewsonic STB was a total piece of crap with bouncing keys and poor IR sensor (on the box) and can drive one crazy. I am using a Harmony remote instead of the Viewsonic and controlling the box is still a hit and miss business at times. The user interface of the Viewsonic is also really awful. Programming a scheduled recording is bad enough and I just gave up on finding a way to do repeated recording. On the other hand, the MTV remote works great at least for a couple of years according to some reports here. I am using Harmony remotes replacing all my remotes, so I can't say anything about their reliability. I can at least say the feel and response of the MTV remotes are quite good. Other than the set up menu, the day to day usage interface is actually very good - much better than the Viewsonic and a Olevia STB I briefly used. I went to Pixel Magic's office once on a Sat and the guy processing my repair was actually very pleasant. The only thing was that I had to wait for almost an hour in that God forbidden Science Park with nothing to do or see. No doubt, there are a quite a few improvements required if Pixel Magic want to position their product as a premium product, such as:
1) after sales: spend the money get a outlet somewhere located along the MTR line or provide free courier pickup/delivery
2) spend some time, effort and money to outsource more reliable parts such as the internal fan, power supply and remote. It is so frustrating to have little things like that failing on you when you are paying a premium on the product. Even a life time warranty could not help in cases like that.
3) spend the time and effort on fixing up reported bugs rather than wasting time on new features which may be used by only a few % of your customers. For example, the "Internet gadgets" are cute but I doubt many customers would use it more than out of curiosity.
4) get someone who knows something about ergonomics to redesign the set up menu instead of leaving it to the programmer. One example, why would repairing and formatting the HDD fall under "Recording set up"? Another example, why the "black enhance" and "dynamic/natural color" default settings are different for ATV and TVB channels? It is excruciating to reset those settings for each channel whenever a rescan is required. A third example, changing the over/under scan, I just can't understand the rationale behind the "-5% ... -1% 0 +5% ... +1%" arrangement. Doesn't it make more sense to have it arranged as "-5% ... -1% 0 +1% ... +5%"? Also, the setting makes more sense when it is combined with the "test pattern" display.
5) last but not the least, shouldn't someone response to the users' complaints when their people started a thread here? As someone said, Li On would only responses on complements and may be feature requests but nothing else. It gives the customers the impression of a "don't care don't bother us" reputation. Is that what Pixel Magic want? |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release! After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
