5.04 解決到我的問題！
現在wifi手指 BUFFALO WLI-UC-GN 可用 BUFFALO WZR-HP-G300NH 連綫 (之前所有update firmware都唔得)
完全正常，接收到網址傳送來的預約錄影資訊 (只是wifi不能待機模式時用)，
可看哂on.cc, 蘋果, yahoo 新聞及天氣.........."  |

我又 ok 無乜特別問題出過 , 只係想問下依家用 usb wifi 做網上預錄係 call 唔醒隻 mtv3000 (standby mode).
唔知遲 d 會唔會都可以解決到呢個問題? |

I found that the MTV firmware was very easy to hang when there were problems with the hard disk/file system.
1) Both my MTV3000 and 5000 had hanging and recording skip problems when the hard disks were full. I set to keep recorded files until disk full. The boxes seemed to run fine after I deleted the saved files and ran a file system check.
2) Recently, after firmware updated to 5.0x, my MTV5000 kept hanging very often when scheduled recording started - no recording but could watch TV, however, the box was turned on with the channel stucked at the one set for recording and no responses from remote. I did a file system check and after almost 2 hours, it was still running. It looked like there was a file system problem and the firmware just couldn't handle it. I powered off the box and reformatted the hard disk and touch wood, it hasn't hung for a few days now. |

So lucky. 
Upgraded from 5.02 to 5.03 for about a week, it never halt once. Touch wood.
Note about my hardware: MTV3000 with original power adapter, and about 2.5 years old, and connecting 1T + 2T WD HDD.
Note about my usage: 3 recording programs every weekday, about 8 programs for weekends.
Note for my friend's MTV3000: He just bought a 3rd party power adapter to replace the original faulty one.
Anyway, I am going to buy a new MTV 3200D for living room and move MTV3000 to bedroom. |

With the 5.0x firmware, channel change and pressing the logo (menu) button does seem to be slower than before.
I also experience the following freezing problem with both 5.02 and 5.03 firmware:
1) during a scheduled program being recorded
2) pressed the logo (menu) button > select "recorded program" > select program being recorded > play from beginning
3) while playing the recording, skipped commercials using the "3" key + the >>| button
4) when the playback caught up with the program being broadcast, the MTV3000 would freeze and would not response unless doing a power recycle |

今日預校左綠 5 個節目，今晚返來全部綠左 1 秒就停左......... how come??? why???
用左大半年都未試過咁?? |

I also found the interface response time is a bit slower (I do not plug in LAN cable).
Also, the most frustrating thing is... I have been recording Thomas train animation weekly and then I will do some editing and save it (move to USB drive).
In the past the transcoding process is around 1.5 minute. Today I found that it needs >10min!!!
Very disappointed... |

I also found that the performance is degraded (slow response when press any remote key) when upgraded to 5.03 (it also happened on ver 4) on my MTV3000 or MTV3500. Is it the hardware limitation? |

Before upgrading to 5.03, my MTV3100D didn't have any hangup problem, however, after upgrading the version on 3 Oct , the problems was occurred very often, it hanged up
at standby mode each day, I even can't use remote control to turn on the MTV3100D, need turn off and on the main switch to start up the MTV.
I also have MTV3000 at my bedroom and upgrade to 5.03 at the same day, but only hanged up once upto now.
1) The MTV3100D using LAN cable to connect internet
2) Not yet start to use remote recording
3) I have been using HDMI mode startup mode at fast

hi stephen98, firmware 5.03 should not cause any more "hang" problem. Please down grade to firmware 4.01 to check and compare. If you have a repeatable "hang" problem, please list the steps here, and call support hotline 26556700.
btw, does your magictv has internet connection? lan cable or usb wi-fi? do you use remote recording?
Also, make sure to set Settings->Video->Advance Option->HDMI Startup Mode to Fast (default value). at Normal mode, sometimes may cause no audio, or no picture.

自從upgrade to 5.03 試過三次，開MTV然後約五分鐘後開電視，但螢幕全黑，無影無聲，又不似 hang 机，因 LED panal 顯示會按remote按鍵而改變。
要重開MTV才回復正常!

今日放工諗住睇返set 左 daily timer 錄既 TVB 晚間新聞，睇下劉曉波擰諾貝爾獎。 點知按 remote 又冇反應，睇真o的，又 hang 左! 今次死亡時間係 12:07 Wed。
一星期唔夠 hang 兩次，我使唔使掉左部機落海？ |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
