hi cokeseven, if your LAN "hang" problem is repeatable, assuming Magic TV LAN is connected to a router, then to the internet, please connect ONLY Magic TV LAN, disconnect all other LAN connection (and turn off any wi-fi device) on the router. Try to make Magic TV as the only device to access the internet, and test if there is still "hang" problem around half hour.

我部 MTV5000 up上 5.04後, 每睇半個鐘就 hang 机, 要關大制重開. 
前日將 Lan線鬆掉, 到今日都未有再 hang机 (touch wood). 
有綱上預校錄影都吾禁用… Too Bad!  |

after upgrade to 5.x version my MTV3000 always had problem on viewing recorded program!
those recording before the upgrade could be watched just fine. but all those after keep having problem during view! it just keep 跳格 every 5-10 seconds. tried both HD-Jade and Jade.
even i downgrade back to 4.01 last night the problem still exist. it is strange that even after downgrade, the EPG is 5.x version layout rather than old layout. 
anyone got some clues? |

Hi Li On,
3200D's slow respond problem is not repeatable.
It becomes much faster response tonight. I just can't catch the clue.
When the slow response problem happened, it was not recording program. But I will try your advice if happens again.
FYI, I used ethernet LAN cable. No wifi usb stick used.
BTW, I found 3200D is much signal sensitive than 3000.
For example, MTV3000's signal is about 65% / 100% (strength/quality), but 3200D always get about below 58%/100% (usually 50-55%).
The problem is that the screen is easily get frozen when the signal dropped too low.
FYI. My TV is Panasonic 50" Plasma (2008 model), its signal receiving is always at 90%/100% while MTV3000 got only 65%/100%.
Also, some weird thing happened. Sometimes, the signal of 3200D will show very unstable,
----->> it kept flash between 58%/100% and 30%/0%. 
When this happened, I found no channel can be watched, and the screen show "No Signal" (in Chinese).
If this keeps happening, I will go to exchange a new one before "10 days purchase deadline".
Anyway, I want to try 4.01 on MTV3200D to see if it is the firmware problem or hardware problem.
Can you teach me how to downgrade ? Thanks!

hi Arcadeez, is the 3200d slow respond problem repeatable? Do you have any recording/playback at that moment? Next time when it happens, try disconnect all USB device.

So regret that I said MTV3200D is smoother than MTV3000 in 5.0x.
Today, I found, every button I pressed, it took me a minute to response... 
I can downgrade firmware in MTV3000 easily, but I cannot do the same in MTV3200D. Why?
Can any help? I googled a long time, but no solution for MTV3200D.
And Magic TV hotline was busy too.  |

Yes, I also think that the hanging problem is not due to wireless LAN connection. I also use ethernet LAN for my MTV3000. With firmware 5.02 or 5.03, it almost hanged everyday. After I downgraded the firmware to 4.01 a few days ago, so far experienced no hanging problem. |

I think the "hang" problem is not due to wifi USB stick.
I use ethernet LAN, but my MTV3000 still got hang.
However, I agree the problem may be caused by the original power adapter.
I may change a new one later.
In fact, the speed or response of MTV3000 is much more slower in 5.03 - 5.04, but the 4.1 works much faster. |

I am tootally agree with tttttt c-hing, as my MTV-3000, never have any hanging problem whenevr I update the firrware from old one to the new one. Now, I am using the latest 5.04 for few days so far so good.
Dear Magic TV technical team, I hope you can develop a new firmware to enable us to shift the sub-title up and down as well as changing the sub-title word size from big to small and vice versa.

My MTV3000 is working fine with 5.03 and 5.04 with connected to internet through ethernet port. Is it most of the hang up issue is due to using the wifi USB? |

BTW, by using 5.04, the response of MTV3200D is much more smooth than MTV3000. Maybe the chip is much more advance. |

今日去買埋 MTV3200D.
開機一陣嚇死我, "search 完台" 後 話無訊號 !! 
息機後, 再用導航重新 setup (及 search 台), 先至有返畫面.

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend! This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release! After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
