Quick question...
Look like many many "problem" on the firmware upgrade... beside that... I would like to know.. is all problem also come from "connected with external Harddisk" ??
My question is... anymore have problem without connect any other device? |

用MTV check, error 127 呀
用電腦check "uncorrectable error in data" .....
點呀??? 我用MTV3000, firmware 4.01.........極吾想format D music video 呀
此外,在它香之前常發生
"睇緊replay既video睇睇下間唔中會自己loop住3-4秒既片咁,
如睇到18'15"就唔識得play 18'16"既畫面而會再play 18'12"既畫面
再去到18'15"又跳返去18'12"既畫面度不斷重覆,
要fast forword 到18'19"先可以繼續睇..."  |

其實Loop既問題我大概試到答案, 就係同LAN上網有關.
因為我每天返工前都會關上HKBN的寬頻盒, 而當我回家時, MTV5000D一般都是錄影中, 我試了連續五天, 只要我開啟HKBN盒的寬頻電源, 就在這一刻錄影時間的位置, 我一播到時就會有Loop Play果幾秒的情況.
所以答案係同上網有關. |

有冇發現5.04firmware replay錄影會skip 片?
用緊 M3000 with 5.02 發現經常
睇緊replay既video睇睇下間唔中會自己loop住3-4秒既片咁,
如睇到18'15"就唔識得play 18'16"既畫面而會再play 18'12"既畫面
再去到18'15"又跳返去18'12"既畫面度不斷重覆,
要fast forword 到18'19"先可以繼續睇...
用緊firmware 4.01已經間中有發現咁既情況, 之後up左5.02就更加經常發生...
已經重組過隻harddisk (Baffalo USB 2.5" 500GB HDD) 一次, 但都係咁...
開頭仲以為係部M3000過熱, 已經由櫃入面拎左出黎放左喺個通風位置, 不過仍有發生...
到底係咩事呢??? |

其實會唔會係"芯片"的不同, 由3000....3700, 5000...7000, 所以有啲問題新機會少啲, 舊機會多啲...
係唔係應該分開firmware來比唔同既機種, 咁會唔會穩定啲呢?
新機多啲新功能, 舊機就有保留應該有既基本功能.... |

One Question, not sure it has been discussed before, as I want to copy the TV programme to USB and burn to a DVD or perform conversion, I found that I cannot select or display the subtitle after conversion. The .TS file should contains the available subtitle. Is there any tool or software to do that? thanks |

就好似你想買架車咁，當然係愈多 option愈好，電摺鏡、HID 頭燈，Mark 仔音響……。不過如果話你知架車每月會o係街跪低幾次，你制唔制？
我轉返落 4.01 so far 未 hang 過，如果咁都話 hang 機唔係 firmware 問題，我就唔知係乜野問喇。 |

That is the matter of their management deciding on where to put the resources at hand. If they chose to ignore the fundamental requirements of a functional and stable quality product and instead put their resources on features which might only appeal to a small sector of their customers, they were just making the major mistake of creating a bad reputation of producing unreliable products for themselves. The same dilemma faces every manager responsible for the development of technology products. It seems like Magic Pixel's management decided to put their long term reputation on the line in order to make short term gain in selling a few more boxes. |

其實我用緊3100D, 都間中會hang,...不過經常都有啲"人冇我有"既功能,已經好佩服MTV既工作人員既辛苦了.... |

的確係好矛盾!
又想佢功能強勁 (Pixel Magic 嘅 staff 努力加入新功能依方面嘅努力有目共睹), 又想佢穩定!
問題係佢空有強大功能嘅潛藏能力，但又經常hang機, 有bugs用唔到!!!!!!
想有強大功能嘅用戶又滿足唔到(除左部份唔會hang機嘅幸運兒), 想穩定嘅(除左D仲用緊強勁功能欠奉嘅舊firmware)又滿足唔到, 兩害取其輕,惟有要求有個穩定嘅 firmware 喇! 作為一個素來備受讚賞的機構,辛苦、難做都無計喇!
樓主能享用功能強勁又穩定的 firmware 真令人羨慕 ! |

Well, I try to share my exp on 5.04 with other MTV users.
Mine is the first gen of Mtv3000 (I think it was because it was bundled in my Sony w300)
When I first upgraded to 5.04 and it rebooted last Sunday, it scared me a lot.
Because the program list started distorting on screen, and eventually my TV picture
has a green flash and turned black.
I rushed to turn off my MTV and reboot after a few mins.
Now, it works fine up to this moment.
In this event, I would like to echo someone who stated better power supply would
fix the problem. I agreed in certain extent, because I noted the following after first
Reboot of MTV after upgrade:
My charging iPhone with charger sharing with power bar of charger for Mtv beeps.
It signaled that its power was once disconnected and then reconnected.
It's evident that MTV charger had some irregularity when reboot. I suspected it drew
exceptional large current.
But after second reboot, such symptom was never seen again. |

Absolutely truth ! STABILITY / RELIABILTY is of Utmost important ! 
Those gimmick features is just an bonus or value-added features ! |

Totally agree but it seems that Magic Pixel thought otherwise. Any self-respecting company would feel ashamed when they have to release so many patches in such a short period of time as it is an indication of extremely poor QA. They are driven by marketing to have more features whether the majority of the market want them or not. They totally forgot that good word-of-mouth was what brought them the first batch of customers. Magic Pixel seem to stuck in the thinking that they can get more customers by pushing out immature small interest features rather than thinking as a market leader which would put product quality and stability as their first priority. |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release! After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
