I guess the external power supply is still in good health. The red light is on and the MTV3000's network lights are flashing as well.
Will the power supply of MTV3200 work for MTV3000? My firm has one and I will give it a try before calling the customer service! |

My MTV3000 jsut dead today. Switched off the power to restarted it again didn't help. No signals to TV and nothing displayed on the MTV3000 as well! I could only see the green and yellow lights of the network socket flashing!
Can Li On give me a hand?  |

My Cable TV Box is the HD one (Cisco). |

hi 寒楓, what is your cable tv and now tv box model? If possible please post a photo.
Magic TV 7000D will not turn off cable tv or now tv box, because cable tv and now tv boxes use the same power in standby mode. cable tv box standby model is simply fake. All video and audio outputs are still active in "standby". now tv box will turn off video output in standby, but the box itself is still in full running mode and consume the same power, which is why the now tv box can restore video output in 1-2 second on wakeup.
When using with MTV7000D, please don't turn off the cable tv and now tv box manual. Use Magic TV remote and user interface to control, view, and record cable tv and now tv.

I called MagicTV technical support yesterday.
It was clarified that the Cable TV or NOW decoders need to be turned on manually in order for recording to take place. Don't know if it can be done automatically with future firmware fixes. |

Hello, I am using MTV7000D but found that it cannot turn on and off my cable TV and Now TV boxes automatically. I need to turn them on manually if I want to view and record their channels. Can MTV7000D turn on and off the boxes when MTV7000D is turned on or when the corresponding channels are selected? |

I had similar problem before, reformatting the external hard drive seemed to work for me. |

hi GIFTLAND, that is... normal! Since you have a new Magic TV remote with the MTV7000D, if the old MTV5000 sense the new remote code, it will switch to receiving new remote code, hence up/down key will not change audio/subtitle. As the new remote has dedicated audio/subtitle keys. Please use your old Magic TV remote and press the Yellow or Blue key so that Magic TV can detect you're using the old remote and the up/down keys for audio/subtitle should work again. Until you press the new remote control dedicated audio/subtitle key....
If you want to use 2 Magic TV in the same location, please get a XBOX360 or MCE remote, and set one of the Magic TV to use the other remote control.

Since upgrade to 5.04 for my MTV5000, the subtitle and audio change function disappear from factory remotes up/down direction button. Try to use MCE remote, it fail too, Try to downgrade back 4.01, or upgrade to 5.05 beta, no use.
However, I can use new MTV7000D factory remote with individual key to activate them. What's wrong on MTV5000.Pls help. |

我部3200D係深圳用, 我用番之前買落既呢款天線放大器 http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=4124209179 , 果然收得番706頻道,
但係單載波頻道562同770始終收唔到, 同樣兩個頻道都有訊號, 562搜索唔到, 770搜索到2個頻道, 但冇畫面, 應該係STB既問題, 可唔可以同MAGICTV反應下! 唔該. |

我有MTV3000同3200D，但因為工作時間長冇時間經常檢查部機，好多時一套劇集完左，同時段播新劇照錄，但MTV會將兩套劇放在同一個檔案內，其實呢個情況可否改善一下呢?
另外操作介面上可否讓用戶自行將兩套劇集分開攞放呢?

I am using 3600D, but sometimes cannot record the programe , because I updated to the newest versions of firmware caused poor receiving !!!

Thanks very much for sharing the fact that MTV is capable of supporting two harddisks at the same time. In terms of STB, I can hardly think of any product that is more powerful and at the same time user friendly than MTV. Even though MTV's price is a bit on the high side, I guess we all have to pay for "quality" and "support". |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
