newbird hing,
From what I've found, NTA-3110 is an ADSL modem, not an ADSL router. That means you need a separate router between NTA-3110 and Magic TV. |

newbird hing,
Firstly, you may try to obtain IP address by DHCP in Magic TV and see if it cures your problem.
If not, try to find out the DNS address from your PC or router or your ISP, and input it into the Magic TV static IP address settings.
If you find that static IP address works for you but not DHCP, please let us know your router model. |

To apple_999911,
I think your problem is like mine before. For some previous firmware version (3.02f for sure, but may be more), the MTV fails to mark the content file for deletion when we move the recording to recycle bin and eventually when the recording is permanently deleted, the content file is left behind and you lose disk space for recording. As I used MTV3000, I can connect the HDD to PC and inspect the directory myself, and perform manual deletion to recover the disk space. Unless MTV can implement some HDD file integrity checks to rectify the problem, you have to bring the whole unit to MTV office for fix. Please note that this is not physical HDD failure. Just software bugs. |

Hi Li On,
I have encountered the hang problem when I was watching TVB HD today . In 'hang' condition, I even cannot change to power-saving mode to start up again. The vesrion is 3.03a. Finally, I just can downgrade to 2.06, which I think is the most reliable version and reset again. Please check it out the problem. By the way, I am pleased with your staff effoet. Hope coming firmware can be more reliable and more funny.
Thanks,
Eric

>However, if you use the -> key instead the it will look more reasonable as it will rotate to +1% after -5%, giving a more "gradual" change.
I can't see how -5% jumping to +1% being more natural. |

P. Yeung Hing,
I agree, the ergonomics design of "video size adjustment" is not as natural as I expected.
I think this is because it is easier to write the program:
I think the pre-set video sizes adjustments are in this sequence:
+1%, +2%, +3%, +4%, +5%, Normal, -1%, -2%, -3%, -4%, -5%
Therefore, whenever you press <- key it shifts one location to the left and use that value. After it comes to +1% it rotates to -5%.
It is this sequence that is un-natural.
However, if you use the -> key instead the it will look more reasonable as it will rotate to +1% after -5%, giving a more "gradual" change.
Personally I do not really mind the "less natural" setting operation, as it is a one-time adjustment. |

Newbird,
I think it is more likely to be the problem of your network / router rather than MTV. |

Upgrade from 3.02c to 3.03a last night. There is no more problem in recovering disk space from deleting unwanted recordings as in 3.02f.
Good Work Li On and MTV staff.
P.S. Looking forward to adding/changing recording schedule feature via LAN interface in future firmware releases. |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend! This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release! After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
Please post any question about the upcoming MTV3000 recording firmware here! Thanks in advance.
regards,
Li On
