804s is a relatively power-hungry speaker. It takes ample power to make it sound good and reasonable. For optimal result, I think you need an external power amp (200w x 2, 8-ohm min), on top of the AV amp, for 804s.
4308, 905 and LX70 will have a better chance among the list. Bi-amp function in the AV amp will certainly help.
Wait for Denon AVC-A1HD or Pioneer LX90 flagship integrated AV amps. They both have more power reserve, but still no match to the result of having an external power amp. |
