Principal, If you want very accurate calibration for your projector, you
need to have people like CKL/LiOn to use colorfact to calibrate. It will
give you calibration close to 65K (standard for NTSC). I think the HiVi
disc are more geared toward the sound and simple display calibration
(brightness, contrast, etc.). For sound tune up, you need a sound
meter. Both HiVi and Avia will give you different tone to help you to
calibrate. Without the meter, it is difficult to calibrate the sound
accurately for surround sound. Unfortuately, the disc is only part of the
equation. |

AV system.
My 'cheap cheap' system:
Projector: Z2
Screen: Kikuchi 73"
DVD: GIEC3118
AV Amp: Pioneer VSX D711
Front Spk: KEF Coda 8
Surround Spk: Bose 101MM
Centre Spk: Infinity Video 1
Component cable: Supra AV-3 |

What is your purposes? To calibrate a projector, Avia is much better,
but it's not easy for beginner. |
