The manual is in Japanese. But you can understand most of it, because
there are some Chinese in between.
The cost of the tv box is $788. I bought it from a computer centre in
Sham Shui Po. It is in 4:3 mode at first, you need to adjust it to 16:9 in
36HDF9. Very easy and nothing is CUT away (I mean the right/left or
up/down of the screen).

I also have a 36HDF9. I use AVerMedia AVerTV Box9 to VGA in and
view TV in 480p. The quality is much better than using DVD recorder to
convert PAL to NTSC.
I would also like to know how to view TV signal in component. I have a
VGA to Component Cable in 1.5meter lenght.
Would you please let me know your second hand price of the TV, KW-
36HDF9?

Dear PYro hing,
i will buy a band new pc for htpc so, i would like to make it more
powerful and could use in many aspect:
play DVD , play some 1080i (TS or WMV file), as MP3 song center ,
NTSC>pal convertor and also would save some old VCD and DVD to
hard disk for my movie center. and also want to as my TV recorder
So i would like to use P4 3.0 or above CUP. and would like to get good
quality in DVD - a good vedio card also in my plan - x700?
Does any vedio card have component and DVI or HDMI out put?
I just check my HDF9, it have vga input but as i know vga just support
800x600 , so if i would like to get 1080i , i must consider for component
in!
Some friend tell me that HTPC's weakness is too much nosie! Anyway
cannot solve it (such as water cooling and good case...!
All brother please give some advise, as my DVD is 死下死下now, i would
like to install this htpc in coming 2-3 week.
As the above requiremnet , do you think 7k could make it or not.

if HDF9 has VGA input then you just need TV tuner card that works with dscaler.
If not, (i) you need to buy a VGA to component converter and use with TV card; or (ii) buy PDI card - XCard is only needed for DVD playing, not needed for TV
In my experience,quality-wise, PDI card with external VCR is best quality, then follow by USB TV box /dscaler, then internal TV card with dscaler  I saw some TV boxes and didn't want to try ....
