buy a AV AMP......then AV AMP to push centre AMP and surround AMP
and AV AMP provide signal to my Tube AMP for front channels..
Right?

Dominique,
You have 2 methods to connect your sound card to amp.
1. analogue output and not require pre-amp or DAC. Directly connect
the front/rear/centre/subwoofer output from sound card to your power
amp. That's what I'm using. AC3 decoding was done by software.
Calibration of the 5.1 sound was not easy. I'm not sure if WinDVD
5/6 with additional audio package has option to enter individual
speaker distance.
2. co-axial/optical (either on-board or from sound card) to AV amp
which decode AC3/DTS. Then pre-amp output to power amp.

In such case, I have no reason to buy a Audigy ZS. Just but a cheap
cheap 2XXX AV Amp......
Right?

and to your Yamaha amp (other outputs)  |

I got similar setup as yours but using windvd to decode AC3.
In my setup, you need to adjust the volume of front/rear/centre
individually. It is not easy and the result may be worse than cheap
cheap AV amp.
Therefore, I plan to have a AV amp in the near future. |

My 2-channel is using Tube Amp
My surround channel is using a very old Yamaha Amp (only have pro-
logic). Only want to use the power amp part but not the surround
logic.
Do you think it is a good idea?

HTPC / Audigy to DAC
DAC to Preamp
Preamp to AMP for 2 Channel
Preamp to AMP for Centre speaker and 2 surround speaker
Do you think it is a good idea? Or should I buy a cheap cheap
Surround Amp?

You still need an amp bor~ Is "Audigy 2 ZS to DAC" means using
computer speakers??
Anyway if clocking of your HTPC is not bad than bitstream from HTPC
coaxial to AV Amp should be ok, or you can try using optical... |

As I do not have an AV Amp, please advise the advantage & disadvantages of using Audigy 2 ZS to DAC instead of using HTPC Coaxial to AV Amp.
