harddisc and want
family to be able to watch those so automate the HTPC is necessary

I found a thread in avsforum "front-ends for HTPC", they mostly like
xlobby because its free but no remote control and didn't mention
Zoomplayer

I plan to unify things on one software DVDP, then use my infrared
wireless keyboard codes to train my learning remote to operate it, so
the learning remote will do just the key functions, select file from
playlist/library, play, pause, stop, fastforward, back
This way family can just use remote

Yes, I've played Grider for a while and has no patient to learn how
to operate it. I think a blue-tooth mouse/trackball is good enough
for HTPC. |

ok one more reason to try Zoomplayer then, but girder (which I have)
is too much work to setup I think even though i can program - I dont
want to do it  |

Zoomplayer can play WMV, DVD, HDTV and video files. It can also
play VCD but it needs go to the MPEGAV and click the *.dat file. It
can't play CD. It may need to add specified file control CD but I
have not tried yet.
Actually, you can use the program of Grider to remote anything in
the PC. |

there are so many movie formats so I found myself switching between
BSPlayer, then VLC, then WMV, then PowerDVD constantly But no
learning remote can handle so many software's control (may iwon ?)
Is there a player like Zoomplayer that can unify and play everything
each time ? This way I can build a remote control for playing movies
more easily so the family can benefit from it 
CKL hing, you ask about this before, what's your finding ?
Should I put back my Xcard ?
