These could be the problem of default A11 settings..
(certainly, it could also be due to the problem of a badly
compressed DVD disc)

As far as I could remember, you may try to decrease the black level
and increase the contrast level in different setting pages of A11 to
solve the problem...

But they are probably not related with the NR level of A11...

On some DVDs, there are lots of macroblock noises, usually on those dark scenes. Is this a DVD disk problem? Or is it a problem of the DVD player or the monitor?
I am using a Denon A11 player and a 42" plasma (with component connection). Will the use of DVI solve the problem?
For those A11 users, what are your settings on those NR (noise reduction) options?
